From January to August 2026 local budgets collected 237.5 million UAH in transport tax from owners of high-value cars, a 58.7% increase year-on-year. Local budgets in Ukraine received 237.5 million UAH in transport tax from owners of expensive passenger cars in January–August 2026, up 58.7% from 149.6 million UAH in the same period last year. The figures come from the State Tax Service and were reported by UNN.

Kyiv paid the most—68.1 million UAH—followed by Dnipropetrovsk Oblast (21.3 million UAH), Odesa Oblast (17.9 million UAH) and Kyiv Oblast (17.5 million UAH). The transport tax applies to passenger cars no older than five years whose average market value exceeds the 2026 threshold of 3.2 million UAH.
