Mayor Klitschko urges government to hand over decaying Hostynnyi Dvir to Kyiv for urgent restoration AI

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has called on the Ukrainian government to immediately transfer ownership of Hostynnyi Dvir to the city, saying the national heritage building is falling apart and needs urgent action to be saved, according to reporting on 14 August 2026. Hostynnyi Dvir is a nationally listed heritage building in Kyiv; its continued decay poses risks to a central part of the city’s historic fabric and to public safety and tourism. If the government transfers the property, the city says it could begin restoration and protective measures more quickly.
