Kyiv-Basket claimed a 79–70 road win over Rivne on October 2 in the Ukrainian Superliga. After an even first quarter the visitors won the second 22–11 to take a 40–28 halftime lead and held on despite a third-quarter push from the hosts.
Frontcourt player Kabatsyura finished with a double-double — 15 points and 10 rebounds — and Likhoy added 14 points for Kyiv-Basket. Rivne’s top scorer was Bykov with 22 points. Quarter scores (Rivne–Kyiv): 17:18, 11:22, 19:14, 23:25.
Other Superliga results on October 2 included Volyn’s narrow 88–86 victory over Kharkiv Sokoly (Klimov 20 points, 10 assists for Volyn; Khokhonyk 24 and Sushkin 23 for Kharkiv), Zaporizhzhia’s 95–70 win at Prykarpattia-Hoverla, and Dnipro’s 83–67 away win at Khmelnytskyi. With the result Kyiv-Basket has won both of its opening matches this season.
