Northern Ireland won 3–0 against the Ukraine national team in Trnava in the third round of UEFA Nations League Division B on 3 October 2026. The visitors opened the scoring in the ninth minute when Atcheson’s corner was knocked back into the box and Brown was first to finish. Price then headed a cross into the far corner to make it 2–0.
After the break Ukraine pushed for a response but could not convert their chances; Brown completed his brace after a pass behind the defence and an unsuccessful exit by goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk. Ukraine’s best chance came when Matvii Ponomarenko struck the post.
Ukraine made defensive changes before the match because Vitaliy Mykolenko, Oleksandr Drambaiev and Bohdan Mykhailychenko were absent. The side started with four central defenders — Valeriy Bondar, Illia Zabarniy, Eduard Sarapiy and Mykola Matviienko — and 36-year-old Andriy Yarmolenko appeared from the first minute. In a parallel game Hungary beat Georgia 1–0; Northern Ireland now lead the group with seven points, Ukraine and Hungary have four, and Georgia one.
