The Ukrainian national team will miss Georgiy Sudakov for its fourth-round Nations League match against Hungary, the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) confirmed. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder injured himself in Ukraine’s 0:3 defeat to Northern Ireland and will return to his club, Benfica, for treatment.
Sudakov provided an assist to Artem Sikan in the teams’ first meeting in Budapest; his absence removes a creative option from Ukraine’s lineup for the match scheduled on 5 October at 21:45 Kyiv time. Due to the ongoing war, the game will take place in Trnava at Anton Malatinsky Stadium rather than inside Ukraine.
Ukraine sit on four points after three matches and occupy second place in Group 2 of Division B. ZN.UA notes it will offer a text live feed of the Ukraine–Hungary match.
