Yozhef Sabo, the legendary former player and coach of Dynamo Kyiv, said in an interview with Meta.ua that he will stop watching matches of the Ukraine national team. Speaking ahead of the Nations League fixture with Hungary on Oct. 5, Sabo said he felt “ashamed” after Ukraine’s defeat to Northern Ireland and that the result kept him awake.
Sabo told the portal that current national players “sabotage” matches and do not give their all, and he placed responsibility squarely on the coach. He said he told himself he would not watch further games to avoid “such worries” in his old age and predicted a 0:0 or 1:1 outcome against Hungary. OBOZ.UA reported the interview and noted it ahead of the Oct. 5 match, which the outlet carried live from 21:45.
