Kyiv’s new epidemic season for influenza and acute respiratory viral infections began on 28 September, the Kyiv City Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Ministry of Health) reported to city authorities. For the 40th epidemiological week the centre recorded 6,694 cases in the capital, with a weekly incidence rate of 226.7 — about 58.6% below the average intensity level.

The cases included 3,657 children and 3,037 adults; 1,947 infections were among schoolchildren. Medical facilities hospitalised 87 patients during the week, including 67 children under 17 and 20 adults. Among infections reported were four adult cases of COVID‑19; two adults with COVID‑19 required hospital treatment. No fatalities were recorded during the reporting week.
