Coach Volodymyr Boshchuk outlined the team’s 2026/27 plan on 6 October, saying Ukraine will not attend every World Cup stage and will deliberately miss three events. The precise schedule will depend on athletes’ form; strong results could lead to wider participation, while fatigue or poor condition may prompt further absences.
Boshchuk explained the decision follows last season’s long multi-month trips, which left jumpers tired before major championships. He singled out long flights and extended time abroad—such as last year’s trip to Japan—as factors in choosing a lighter travel programme. The coach also said the team might skip the large flying hill in Vikersund because the world championships immediately afterwards are on a small hill, and switching between such hills is difficult.
