Betking Foundation and founder Pavlo Zhurilo ran the seventh ‘Day with the Kings’ match on October 3, 2026 in Ternopil. The format matched 50 children against 11 professional players from FC Niva Ternopil. Before the game the children trained with the professionals; afterwards they took photos, collected autographs and received gifts.
The initiative is aimed at children affected by the war — including children of active servicemen, children of fallen defenders, and internally displaced children — and seeks to give them a day of normalcy through sport. Organisers say the project has brought together more than 330 children over two years, with previous matches held in Kyiv, Bucha, Rivne, Oleksandriia, Irpin and Uzhhorod.
‘Day with the Kings’ has received international recognition — it was a finalist in the UN Global Compact’s ‘Partnership for Sustainable Development 2025’ and won two Davos Communications Awards in 2026 — and Betking Foundation says it will continue to expand the project to more cities.
