An anticyclone shifting toward the Balkans and the Black Sea will let warmer air from the south move over Ukraine on Sunday, August 16, according to Cherkasy hydrometeorological head Vitaliy Postryhan. Daytime temperatures are forecast to rise to about +30…+33°C in parts of the country, with eastern regions and Sumy oblast likely remaining cooler at roughly +25…+28°C.

Forecaster Natalia Didenko says this heat wave will be milder than the previous one. Nighttime lows are expected mostly between +12 and +17°C. Kyiv is forecast to have little or no significant precipitation over the coming weekend: about +27°C on Saturday and up to +30°C on Sunday.
