The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued a Level I (yellow) warning for Kyiv and Kyiv region on 17–18 August, citing an approaching cyclone. The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warned via its Facebook page that a dangerous cyclone will affect Kyiv and the surrounding region on 17 August and into 18 August. Forecasters say thunderstorms are likely, with hail possible in some areas and wind gusts of 15–20 m/s during the next three hours with effects holding through the end of 17 August.

The centre has declared a Level I (yellow) meteorological danger. Local authorities and the reporting outlet list likely consequences: fallen trees and branches, roof damage, broken power or communications lines, blown-down billboards and scaffolding, damage to parked cars, and traffic delays.

Residents are advised to close windows, avoid staying under open sky during storms, secure loose objects outdoors, and follow updates from emergency services and weather channels.
