Ukraine registered 709 new companies with foreign owners in January–July 2026. Citizens of China created 114 of those firms (16% of the total), nearly triple the 41 Chinese-owned companies registered in the same period last year, and overtaking Turkey as the top source of new foreign registrations. The top five origin countries were China (114), Turkey (98), the USA (62), Germany (44) and Azerbaijan (35).

Most new foreign-owned companies were registered in Kyiv: 360 firms, about half of the national total. Other regions with notable counts were Odesa oblast (110), Lviv oblast (78), Kyiv oblast (22) and Khmelnytskyi oblast (20).

Wholesale trade was the single largest sector, with 167 newly registered companies (24%). Other common activities included real estate operations (57), building construction (54), IT (45) and head‑office activity (40). The reporting also notes several newly registered companies with large declared charter capital, and that as of mid‑May there were 21,967 sole proprietors (FOPs) owned by foreign citizens, the largest single group being Russian nationals (4,593 FOPs).
