Food prices in Kyiv rose 7.3% versus 5.6% nationally; alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased by 12.4% versus 9.8%; household goods, appliances and maintenance services rose 7.0% versus 4.3%; health‑care services were up 4.5% versus 2.4%; and transport services surged 66.7% in Kyiv compared with 25.7% across the country. Communication, recreation and education also showed higher increases in the capital.
Some costs rose more slowly in Kyiv: housing, water and energy were up just 0.7% (3.6% nationally), fuel and lubricants rose 25.2% (26.5% nationally), and restaurants and hotels increased 6.2% (8.2% nationally). Clothing and footwear fell in price in Kyiv (clothing −18%, footwear −5%), reflecting broader consumer belt‑tightening.
