Kyiv police report that the crash occurred around 13:20 on 26 August at the intersection of Prospekt Yevropeyskoho Soyuzu and Vyshhorodska in the Podilskyi district. A Volkswagen minibus marked for medical use, with its flashing lights and siren on, entered the intersection on a red light and collided with a Toyota Prius.
The force of the impact flipped the minibus. Police say eight people — the minibus driver and passengers — suffered bodily injuries and were taken to medical facilities. The Toyota Prius was damaged in the collision.
Investigators from the Kyiv traffic-detective unit and patrol police are working at the scene to establish all circumstances and the exact mechanism of the crash. Local drivers should expect disruption in the area while the examination continues.
