Median rent in Kyiv is about 17,000 UAH (roughly 58% of a median youth wage), while rent burdens are highest in Uzhhorod and Lviv. This ranking quantifies how much of a young person’s pay goes to rent in Kyiv and other cities — useful for students, jobseekers and first‑time renters.

Analysts at OLX compared average asking rents and resale prices for one‑room apartments with a median ‘youth’ salary drawn from OLX Jobs (29,306 UAH in July). For Kyiv the median advertised monthly rent was about 17,000 UAH, equal to about 58% of that youth median income.

Under the OLX calculation, saving the entire salary toward a one‑room flat on the secondary market would take roughly ten years in Kyiv — the same approximate timeframe found for Lviv and Uzhhorod. The report also identifies the heaviest rent burdens in Uzhhorod (22,404 UAH, 76.4% of income) and Lviv (22,248 UAH, 76%), while Zaporizhzhia and Kherson appear most affordable by the same savings metric (around two years).
