Ukrainian meteorologists report a short spell of wet weather across the country on 26–27 August. Vitaliy Postrygan says a frontal system arriving from the Balkans will increase cloudiness and produce rain of varying intensity, often accompanied by thunderstorms. On 27 August an upper-level cyclone is expected to form near Zhytomyr and move toward the Black Sea, maintaining predominantly cloudy skies with periodic showers.
Forecasters expect conditions to stabilise on 28 August as the anticyclone “Steffen” strengthens, bringing mostly dry, sunnier weather. Night temperatures are forecast near +10…+15°C and daytime highs around +22…+27°C. Igor Kibalchych notes the south and southwest may still see hotter readings—up to about +33…+34°C on 27–28 August. Short, localized storms are possible on 29 August in the west, while 30 August may bring rain and thunderstorms on the Right Bank but little precipitation is expected on the Left Bank.
