Yuliia Veselovska, a tourism expert and tour organiser, told UNN that autumn—especially September and early October—is an excellent time to travel around Ukraine as temperatures cool, crowds thin and harvest-season activities begin.

She highlights the Carpathians for hiking, mushroom and gastronomy tours; Zakarpattia for wine-harvest visits and tastings around Uzhhorod; and Bukovina, with Chernivtsi offered as a quiet city break close to the hills. Veselovska also recommends lesser-known western and central routes: Podillia (notably Khmelnytska oblast) for growing gastro- and wine tourism, Vinnytsia and Ternopil for active options including spelotours, and short Zhytomyr escapes such as Denyshi and Tryhiria with cliffs and canyon views.

For wellness, she points to Truskavets, Skhidnytsia and thermal complexes in Zakarpattia. Price examples cited: one-day Carpathian trips around 850–1,000 UAH; overnight trips from Kyiv 1,500–2,500 UAH; and four-day Carpathian packages from about 7,000 UAH. Veselovska urges travellers to check what each tour price includes before booking.
