Ukraine places eighth at World Rowing Championships with three para-rowing medals AI

At the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam (24–30 August 2026) Ukraine won three medals and finished eighth in the overall standings. All medals came in para-rowing: Anna Sheremet took PR1 women's single gold, Stanislav Samolyuk and Dariia Kotyk won PR3 double silver, and Roman Polyansky earned PR1 bronze. The 2026 World Rowing Championships were held in Amsterdam from 24 to 30 August. Ukraine picked up three medals during the regatta, all in para-rowing categories, and finished eighth in the overall medal table.

Anna Sheremet won gold in the PR1 women's single (the para class for athletes with the most significant trunk and leg impairments). A silver medal came from the PR3 double of Stanislav Samolyuk and Dariia Kotyk (PR3 covers athletes with impairments to lower limbs or trunk), and Roman Polyansky took bronze in the PR1 men's single.

Ukraine’s eighth-place finish repeats the country’s result from the 2025 world championships. Host nation the Netherlands topped the table with ten medals (four gold), while Germany, the USA and Romania each won three golds; Germany placed second overall on count of silvers, the USA third on bronzes, and Romania’s tally consisted solely of gold medals.
