Mykhailo Kokhan takes silver in Brescia Continental Tour hammer throw AI

On 30 August 2026 at the Continental Tour meet in Brescia, Ukraine’s Mykhailo Kokhan threw 78.78 m (his best in round two) to claim the silver medal in the men’s hammer. He finished behind European champion Bence Halas (80.67 m). Kokhan’s Brescia appearance was his first competition after winning bronze at the European Championships, a quick international return for one of Ukraine’s top throwers.

Hungary’s reigning European champion Bence Halas won the contest with 80.67 m; Germany’s Soren Klose took bronze with 76.41 m. For Kokhan this was his first meet after earning bronze at the recent European Championships.

Ukraine also had a competitor in the women’s hammer: Iryna Klymets threw 68.36 m in her fifth attempt and finished sixth. The women’s title went to DeAnna Price with 74.50 m; Italy’s Sara Fantini was just 20 cm short of the winner, and the bronze mark listed at 72.68 m.
