Vasyl Rats, the 65-year-old former Dynamo Kyiv midfielder and 1986 Cup Winners' Cup winner, has joined Dynamo Kyiv's scouting department, the club announced on 21 September 2026. Rats played roughly 200 official matches for Dynamo across the 1980s. A club legend returning to recruitment links Kyiv’s successful 1980s generation directly to the team’s current scouting operations.

Dynamo Kyiv announced on 21 September 2026 that Vasyl Rats has joined the club’s scouting department. Sport.ua reports Rats, now 65, will work in player selection, drawing on his long playing career and professional knowledge to support Dynamo’s development.

Rats spent nine seasons with Dynamo in the 1980s (1981–1988 and in 1989), appearing in about 200 official matches. During his career he won multiple Soviet titles and cups, and was part of Dynamo’s 1986 Cup Winners' Cup triumph. He later played for Espanyol and Ferencváros, winning domestic honours in Hungary, and earned 47 caps for the USSR, including a run to the Euro 1988 final.
