PinchukArtCentre’s ‘Still Joy’ opens at Gammel Strand, Copenhagen AI

Still Joy, a group exhibition created by PinchukArtCentre and curated by Bjorn Geldhof and Oleksandra Pohrebniak, opens at Gammel Strand in Copenhagen on 18 September 2026 and runs through 10 January 2027. The show features new works by eleven Ukrainian and international artists responding to testimonies of joy from Ukrainian service members. Created in Kyiv and shown at the Venice Biennale parallel programme, the exhibit keeps PinchukArtCentre’s projects visible on the international stage.

PinchukArtCentre’s group exhibition Still Joy is on view at Gammel Strand in Copenhagen from 18 September 2026 until 10 January 2027. Curated by Bjorn Geldhof (art director, PinchukArtCentre) and Oleksandra Pohrebniak, the project gathers new work by eleven Ukrainian and international contemporary artists responding to testimonies from Ukrainian military personnel about what joy means to them.

The show moves beyond images of war to explore youth, friendship, community, nature and hope. Works described in the exhibition text include pastel-coloured candy chandeliers, scenes from Kyiv underground techno raves, skulls painted directly on walls, and flickering brass bells bearing fingerprints of displaced people.
