City utility Kyivteploenergo completed hydraulic testing of Kyiv’s heat networks as part of winter preparations, the Kyiv City State Administration reported at a press briefing. Inspectors identified 2,451 damages during the checks; crews have repaired 2,413 of those faults. Officials say damages on large-diameter mains have been fully eliminated.
Acting first deputy head Petro Panteleev noted that ongoing shelling and ballistic strikes continue to produce new leaks, so teams will carry out additional inspections and repairs as needed. The administration described hydraulic tests as a key step to reduce emergency failures during the heating season.
Authorities reminded residents to keep at least 10 metres from repair sites, avoid routes through damaged areas (due to risk of ground washout or pavement collapse), and report suspected leaks via the DIM.1557 service, the Kyiv contact centre at 1551, or local dispatchers. The city also said 82% of buildings managed by communal companies already have readiness certificates as of 22 September.
