Chytomo surveyed publishers and three advertising operators about book advertising in Kyiv’s metro, on citylights and on outdoor banners. Agencies reported wide price variation depending on format: small platform banners and metrolights can cost from about 5–34 thousand UAH per month, digital screens from ~4–10 thousand UAH, while in-wagon stickers or full-window/door wraps can run from tens to hundreds of thousands UAH monthly. Trans Media noted a 10–20% price rise since March 2026.
Agencies commonly recommend metrobords on platforms and escalator panels for the contact time they provide; others favour platform walls for targeted station-level campaigns. Publishers and retailers use metro ads mainly to build recognition: Megogo Books ran multiple short campaigns across lines, Sens staged large “read in the metro” campaigns (summer–autumn 2024 and a smaller June 2026 push), and Beagle tested citylights and paste-ups for Margaret Atwood.
Measured sales effects are inconsistent. Some small campaigns coincided with modest bumps in bookstore sales (one publisher saw near-doubling of sales in a partner shop during a month-long push), while others saw no lift or even declines. Chytomo’s respondents say outdoor advertising functions best as part of a wider campaign rather than a standalone conversion tool.
