The Ukrainian Library Association announced the campaign “Library Event of the Year” timed for All‑Ukrainian Library Day, observed on September 30. Libraries are asked to select one 2026 event they are most proud of and describe it in a Facebook post.
The association asks posts to explain what the event was, why it was held, who joined, who benefited, and what changed afterwards for the community, participants, the library, or a school. Suggested event types include festivals, meetings, educational programmes, volunteer initiatives, children’s or older‑adult activities, local history projects, inclusive practices, or activities that responded to community needs.
Participants may choose formats — text with photos, video, a short testimony from a librarian or participant, or a single photo with a story — and are asked to use the campaign hashtags (transliterated) #BibliotechnaPodiya2026 and #VseukrainskyiDenBibliotek. Libraries should recheck the original announcement for any additional rules or deadlines.
