Pereiaslav’s multidisciplinary hospital (KNP «Pereiaslavska BLIIL») introduced a pediatric dermatovenerology service in September as part of a strategic expansion of outpatient care. Director Andriy Nechyporuk says the new direction responds to local demand for accessible specialist help and is intended to widen the range of free services available to the community.
Two certified pediatric dermatovenereologists—Nadiya Demeshko and Olga Palamarchuk—work in shifts and on average examine 4–5 children daily. Doctors report the most common presentations are allergic dermatoses (including urticaria), pyoderma such as streptococcal impetigo, viral conditions (warts, molluscum), fungal infections, parasitic infestations (scabies, pediculosis), acne, hair and nail disorders.
The consultations are provided free under NHSU’s outpatient package (package 9). To attend, parents must obtain an electronic referral from the child’s family doctor with whom they have a declaration, then register for an appointment. Staff advise against self‑treatment and recommend timely specialist assessment for new or rapidly changing rashes, itchy lesions, crusting, or changes in moles.
