The Proslav report also repeats practical autumn advice for gardeners and smallholders: harvest late cabbage, beets and carrots while the soil is still dry; dig up remaining potatoes before colder nights; prune damaged branches, clear fallen leaves, give a final watering to fruit trees, cover tender plants overnight, and insulate chicken coops and barns as needed.
