Kyiv is carrying out a major overhaul on its third Tatra T3 tram of 2026 at the Darnytsia tram depot. Kyivpasstrans crews are replacing electrical equipment, upgrading driver controls, installing air conditioning and tinted windows — repairs that should add about ten years to each tram's service life. These repairs keep older Tatra T3 cars in service on Kyiv routes, improving comfort and extending fleet life without buying new vehicles.
Kyiv is carrying out capital repairs on its vintage Tatra T3 trams in 2026. The third Tatra T3 this year is being rebuilt at the Darnytskyi tram depot, receiving air conditioning, modern driver controls, new interiors and passenger information systems; the work should extend service life by about ten years. Refurbished T3s will return to Kyiv routes from Darnytskyi, Podil and T. Shevchenko depots, offering cooler, better-lit cars with clearer passenger information.
